The project brief asked Studio Kenza to incorporate a seating area within the master bedroom. The existing set up had a sofa which inevitably became a dumping ground for quick changes and eventually a burial site for clean laundry. The family needed more storage space and were keen to utilise the full height of the space as well as floor space. This space needed to be exciting, welcoming and ultimately, a place to chill out together as a couple.
By using oversized boucle swivel chairs, it allows flexibility for the children to come and talk with their parents but by having separate chairs (as opposed to 1 long seating bench), clothes are now stored away and the room is inviting and immediately ready to welcome you to relax. The walls were previously painted taupe, a safe but not very exciting option. We added drama to the space by introducing a luxury grasscloth wall covering onto all walls. This instantly added personality and depth to the room. The couple wanted to take full advantage of the height of the room and trusted us to install a contemporary customised 4 poster bed which immediately adds the wow factor to this space. This star piece is a celebration of simple forms and luxe materials, solid crafted oak complimented by an upholstered linen headboard. We achieved all of this whilst sticking closely to the brief - this super king bed has a full mechanical spring frame to access under bed storage.
Let’s talk organic: as well as the oak wood used for the customised wardrobe doors, flooring, bed, and solid marble side table, we went big on the fireplace! We created an ambitious, customised faux fireplace which has now introduced form into the space. It’s oversized, bold and an absolute stunner! We stacked the mini brick matt finish ceramic tiles for a contemporary finish. Finally, we introduced concealed lighting within the fireplace which adds warmth and ambience to the space towards dusk.
We are exceptionally proud of this transformation. We exceeded our customers expectations and that’s a win for us!
